Irresistible Italy: Advocate for Our Cause

Since we started Irresistible Italy, our informational features highlighting Italian wineries and winemakers, we would like our readers to not only appreciate Italian wines and the deep passion and meticulous process involved in winemaking but also to show some love and support to small, boutique wineries that deserve the spotlight no less.

Pour in Some Support to Small Wineries

From a previous listing we’ve published on what to prepare before your tasting adventure, go ahead and continue to build your network in your next event. Try to get as much contact as you can. Make sure you’ve brought business cards (digital ones are quite common nowadays) or at least leave any contact. The wineries also need our support to expand their database. Besides, we wine lovers are a fine bunch of people and we must help each other in our community to succeed.

Also, if you were given some marketing collaterals or if you’ve taken some, please read them or make use of them. They’ve spent money on those booklets, flyers, and business cards, too. Let’s remember that some of them are small businesses that already paid a huge amount of money for the event stand.

Engaging the Winemaker

When you’re being hosted in a wine tasting, ask something relevant about the winemaker, winery, or their varietals. Try these questions: Who founded the winery? Do they prefer to harvest the grapes by hand? What is the climate and the type of soil of their terroir? What’s their favorite wine of all time? Be extra nice to the person who is guiding you with the tasting and thank him or her for their hospitality. Leaving them with a nice compliment won’t hurt either.

Help our Mission

Let us know of any small Italian wineries that we can feature here. Those who have a great portfolio of wines but could not afford even a small stand to participate in a wine event, let alone a marketing budget to print a business card or flyer. We will be happy to reach out to them and we could arrange a visit and get to know them. Remember some wineries don’t even have Instagram or Facebook accounts to promote their products. We can help them to jumpstart their online presence and hopefully aid in growing their small business in the long run.

That’s our small contribution to the industry and we aim to help in any way we can through marketing and applicable special projects to get their wines out to their potential customers.
