“Share what we love.” These are words from the restaurateurs who shared to us this gem of a hangout here in Singapore. And the good news is, we all loved it there at Rokeby!
It’s a bit of a challenge if you are riding the public transport going to Jalan Riang (where Rokeby is located) but it is so rewarding when you finally get there. It’s about 10-15mins walk from Nex Mall at Serangoon MRT Station (Purple Line) but an alternative route would be from Lorong Chuan MRT Station (Circle Line).
I arrived with my girls at about 8pm, without a table reservation. The wait wasn’t too long though but I’d still suggest that you call them prior to going. The dinner at Rokeby was only accidental as we were supposed to go to The Fat Cat, another relaxed and laid-back resto in Jalan Riang, but we only found out, upon arriving, that it closed shop.
The conversations and the Pure Blondes did not heat up yet when our orders quickly came. Fast service! And the lady who attended to us was friendly. In fact, the guy was being nice too but then he spilled some powdered sugar to one of my friends. Minor fail.
Here are our mains, and, as per recommendation, the food was good.
Mushroom Aglio Olio, 14.90 SGD Mixed Mushrooms, garlic, olive oil
Spaghetti Carbonara, 15.90 SGD; Cream, parmesan cheese, streaky bacon, egg yolk
The famous Moo’s Burger, 17.90 SGD
Kurubota Pork Collar, 23.90 SGD; Black Bershire pork collar, mash, French beans, cherry tomatoes
After the delicious meal and the not so delicious topics, we all hugged each other and bade Rokebye! We agreed to come back soon.
