Our outgoing Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Minda Calaguian-Cruz, flew back to Manila last weekend. Didn’t get a chance to see her even for one last time. I had also missed to attend her send-off party because of a race and an officiating duty.
After accompanying Singapore President Tony Tan for a state visit to the Philippines, she came back to spend another week here to finish her farewell calls on Singapore government officials including the Prime Minister, as well as other commitments previously set. She must be a really busy woman!
Surprisingly, an embassy attaché advised me to come to the Embassy to collect something that the Ambassador had left for me; and there I was handed an official brown envelope with my name on it.
A TESTIMONY FROM HER EXCELLENCY
Gaining respect and trust of the Ambassador and getting this commendation made me real proud: as a leader, a dragon boater, a volunteer, and an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). It’s such an authentic validation of the work and accomplishments over the last five years here in the garden city state—be it at work or with the FilCom and other associations.
To Amba Mindy: You have given me and thousand others such immense joy, hope and inspiration. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. We will truly miss you a lot!
And oh, Amba, this testimonial will definitely be framed. #IKEA
